Sweet Pea Tomatoes – so tiny tomatoes

The Sweet Pea Tomatoes were the most tiny tomatoes I have seen in my life and I grow them this year in my plot because I wanted to save the seeds of this heirloom tomato variety.

These tomatoes are not cherry tomatoes, they are smaller than cherry tomatoes, they are like peas and I have seen peas bigger than this tomato.

Harvest Figs

In my family we like Figs so we had plant many of them in our plot. We have 4 big trees and 3 smaller figs this moment. So as you can understand we have many fruits every year and we eat them all.

We like fig fruits so much that we eat them from the tree when we are in plot. Every day we went in trees many times to search for ripen figs.

Tomato harvest 2009

This year we had many rains in June,no rain in July and 2-3 days with rainstorm in August. So my tomato plants in plot lived without watering from me. July it was bad month for the plants and 3-4 tomato plants died but with many ripen tomatoes in their stems.

Usually I can go in my plot once a month and I stay there 4-5 days but in August I was there for 12 days. Everyday I had fresh tomatoes for my lunch and dinner so I feel happy.

My new Maple – Acer platanoides

Acer platanoides is one of my new trees in plot. I plant it at the middle of May and I am not sure if it will grow normally because maple trees need water and in the area of plot we don’t have so much water.

So you may ask why I plant this tree. The area has many pine trees, you can see conifers everywhere. Well ok not so many pines this moment because we had a big fire 3 years before but the fire stops 600m from my plot and didn’t burn the pines next to plot.

The onion beds in plot

The onions were planted in plot on March 10, in 3 different beds. It was easier to dig this time because we call a man with tractor the previous day and he dig the 1/3 of the plot.

We had many years to pay for tractor and the dirt it was tough with many weeds and wild blackberries plants around. We must call him again to clean the olive grove with his tractor.

We purchased 2 different onion varieties (don’t ask me about, I don’t know the names). The first variety is a white onion and we planted 1Kg small onion sets. The second is red and we plant 0.5 Kg small onion sets.
